Mudiwa Jani is a streamer and content creator of Zimbabwean heritage, whose online presence is as unfiltered as it is magnetic. Mudiwa has been part of the AYMSK world, and it's only right we sat down to ask him some questions on his content, his mindset & what keeps him going.

Mudiwa, your content feels personality-driven rather than manufactured. How important is honesty to you online?
Mudiwa : To be honest with you, I think the best way to get through to people is by just being your authentic self. I'm the same offline, maybe even worse offline, whatever worse is. I just like to smile and make jokes.

Throughout your journey as a creator, have you had to figure out how much of yourself to share publicly?
Mudiwa : Not really, it's always just been me. The same person you see online is the same one you'd meet in person.
Streaming happens in real time, no room to hide. Has being live changed the way you deal with pressure or criticism?
Mudiwa : To be honest with you bro, I don't really feel any of that. And if I do, I use it as fuel. I'm here because of God anyway.

As your platform grows, what do you want people to take away beyond the content itself?
Mudiwa : I just want people to feel inspired bro. And see that God works through me.
Comparison is everywhere online, numbers, opportunities, growth. Has it ever affected your confidence?
Mudiwa : Not at all. If anything I feel happy when I see those around me prosper. It makes me believe it's all possible too.
Algorithms, trends, constant output, how do you protect your creativity from becoming too transactional?
Mudiwa : Be original.
