Synopsis

This session documents Zedi recording live on set for AYMSK’s latest collection, The First Layer.

Rather than focusing on performance or release, the intention was to capture the recording process itself, the moments where experiences are spoken and committed to tape. The emphasis is on process over outcome, and on allowing space for stories to surface naturally.

The First Layer

The First Layer represents a foundation for what AYMSK is becoming.

The collection is more restrained in form, while still carrying the same fingerprint of process, imperfection, and failure that has always defined the brand. It marks a shift towards an everyday uniform.

This project exists to show that the ethos of AYMSK extends beyond clothing, into how we collaborate, how we document, and how we create space for other creative practices to exist alongside our own.

Why Zedi?

Zedi is a trap-wave inspired artist honing a sound that is unmistakably his own, from melody and tone to visuals, content, and the wider world he’s building around the music. Hailing from Sheffield, Zedi has been affiliated with the brand since its inception, growing alongside it rather than alongside trends.

Zedi was invited into the session because his sound naturally lives within our world. His vocals are smooth and measured, gliding over trap-wave rhythms with a restraint that feels intentional rather than performative. Lyrically, there’s a quiet confidence and clarity to his writing, it's reflective without being forced yet expressive without excess.

His music has long sat within our internal playlists while curating collections, soundtracking late nights in the studio and moments of focus during the build. It’s music that doesn’t demand attention, but earns it.

Session Record

Documented and recorded on Sunday 25th January 2026, from 6:00pm till 7:30pm, live on set for AYMSK’s first collection of the year, The First Layer.

Garments Worn

Zedi wears an unreleased workwear-inspired jacket, cut oversized with a boxy silhouette and finished with subtle hand-distressed detailing.
