Synopsis

This session documents Kash Mula recording live on set for AYMSK’s latest collection, The First Layer.

Rather than focusing on performance or release, the intention was to capture the recording process itself, the moments where experiences are spoken and committed to tape. The emphasis is on process over outcome, and on allowing space for stories to surface naturally.

The First Layer

The First Layer represents a foundation for what AYMSK is becoming.

The collection is more restrained in form, while still carrying the same fingerprint of process, imperfection, and failure that has always defined the brand. It marks a shift towards an everyday uniform.

This project exists to show that the ethos of AYMSK extends beyond clothing, into how we collaborate, how we document, and how we create space for other creative practices to exist alongside our own.

Why Kash Mula?

Kash Mula is an artist driven by honesty in both pen and tone. His writing is direct and unfiltered, rooted in lived experience rather than performance. From delivery to presence, there’s nothing borrowed, his voice carries its own weight.

Affiliated with the brand since its inception, Kash continually refines his craft through consistency and intent rather than trends. He has always moved in his own lane, shaping a sound that’s distinctly his. His growth has been defined by time spent in the work, writing, recording, and revisiting ideas without rushing outcome.

We’ve been present at his recording sessions, witnessing the process first-hand. His music has long informed our internal playlists, becoming part of the motivations and attitude around our collections. His music remains a constant source of inspiration.
